What is a Wildcard SSL Certificate?
Wildcard SSL certificates provide security for all the same-level subdomains of a domain. For example, with a Single Domain SSL Certificate you can only have https://5wire.co.uk – but, if you have a Wildcard certificate, you can have the top level domain, and as many subdomains as you wish, such as https://billing.5wire.co.uk.
